I’m Fifty-five years old. I own a successful software development business, as well as one or more other current business as well as several new projects in development. I’ve retired several times and found it quite disastrous and very hazardous to my health. I’m evaluating what I want to do in the future. Continue my current businesses? I’m not dissatisfied with them. I feel that I am very fortunate to enjoy what once was only a hobby with how I make a living. But an exploration of something new can’t hurt.
Today I went to the guidance councilor’s office at Spokane Community College. He helped me get right to the point, after I stuttered and stammered a bit trying to spit out my life’s story, by asking something to the effect of: “So you want to know what you want to do when you grow up?” I said yup.
He handed me the keyboard and had me put my email address in to send me directions so I could take a couple tests on the web.I headed on to my office and completed a “MBTI Step I” and a “Newly Revised Strong Interest Inventory”
Made an appointment for tomorrow morning to discuss the results. And by making an appointment I mean I called to make one and was told the Councilor’s office hours and that he doesn’t take appointments – walk in only.
I’m a bit excited to discuss the results. Stay tuned.
